Here’s the story…
I’ve been famous for losing stuff since I was 8 years old and got off the train home from summer camp wearing another kid’s shorts and lugging an empty trunk. When I finish a round of golf, my first thought walking off the green is usually, ‘Fuck, I bet I lost my keys out there somewhere.’
Since I knew I wasn’t going to stop losing stuff, ever, I worked with a guy in Portland to design a wallet, kind of like a mini Trapper Keeper, to secure and organize all the things I carry during a round of golf.
Pretty soon I was carrying it everywhere, for my credit cards and license, a little bit of cash, a small knife, a few bandaids, a lighter—all that boy scout type shit. The pleasure of someone asking for a bandaid and you actually having one? Nutso.
Sleepy Head is grounded in golf, and we’re also creating accessories like ball markers and divot tools, tees and hats. But the Folio is useful for anyone that needs to carry a phone, keys, and a few other little items, like a notepad, a pen knife, a bottle opener, maybe a little weed. So basically everyone.
Sleepy Head Golf is about spending a day outside, with friends or alone, with the grass and the trees and the birds; being in the weather, the sun and the shade and the rain; playing golf or frisbee or just doing nothing at all. We’re here to enjoy the walk.
